The Bir ecosystem has significantly advanced its international expansion strategy at Money 20/20 Europe, one of the world's most influential fintech consortiums. Held in Amsterdam from June 3–5, 2025, the summit served as a global stage for the ecosystem's leading fintech arm, PashaPay, to showcase Azerbaijan’s digital finance innovations and cement high-tier global partnerships.
Operating its own dedicated exhibition stand among global fintech titans and tier-one financial institutions, PashaPay executed a major milestone aligned with the Bir ecosystem's international partnership agenda. During the summit, PashaPay signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global payments giant Mastercard.
This strategic alliance is engineered to dramatically expand access to next-generation digital financial solutions within the region. A core pillar of the partnership focuses on fortifying the ecosystem's infrastructural integrity. Both entities will collaborate extensively to deploy advanced frameworks in cybersecurity, digital identity verification, and anti-fraud technologies, ensuring institutional-grade security and trust for the ecosystem's rapidly growing user base.
To capture a larger share of the international remittance market and drive financial borderlessness, the MoU outlines the strategic integration of Mastercard’s premier cross-border services into the ecosystem. By leveraging Mastercard’s "MoneySend," "Cross-Border Send," and "Alias Directory," PashaPay aims to provide millions of users with broader, faster, and highly secure access to global money transfers, significantly enhancing cross-border liquidity and user convenience.
Reinforcing the ecosystem's unified market approach, Kapital Bank—a foundational pillar of the Bir ecosystem—also deployed a senior delegation to the Amsterdam summit. Engaging in high-level networking, the bank's leadership exchanged strategic insights with leading international banks. By participating in specialized workshops and exploring the latest global digital banking trends, the delegation ensured that the Bir ecosystem remains at the absolute forefront of industry innovation and best practices.
